This morning my phone gave me an alert that it needed to download something and restart. It had done this before, and I had a nice new layout when it came back on. I figured it was gingerbread or honeycomb or something like that. I don't know if you can tell, but I am not smart phone savvy. Well, now when my phone rings the display is different, but everything else is the same. I can't change my my phone's display, and so far that is the only problem I have. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if there is a way to find out if this is the ice cream sandwich program that everyone is telling me about? Thanks.

Menu, scroll to the bottom and touch 'about phone', if your android version isn't 4.x.x then its not ice cream sandwich.

I don't have a prevail so I don't know how anything looked before, or how long ago it got gingerbread. But that's how you check to see what version of android you have, and 4.0 is the newest.

Thanks :), it is Gingerbread. Now I am wondering what that download was, and why my phone looks different when someone calls? I called the Boostmobile customer service line and the guy gave me a code and a msl to put in. I am a little afraid to do that, I don't want to mess up my phone. Thanks for the help.

No problem. If everything is working like its supposed to, I personally wouldent worry.

I did a quick Google search, didn't read anything except the results page, and its saying December 15ish was when the prevail got GB. Maybe someone that actually has the phone can be of a little more help.

I found something online, apparently I had 2.35, and I now have 2.3.6. It is still a little sluggish. Thanks for all your help.

Download history eraser from the market, it'll clear the cache for all apps and history for browser. That might speed it up a little.
