Hi all,

I have an epic 4g on sprint. It's rock stock-meaning, I have made no changes to the phone. How hard is it to delete a bunch of the crap that it apparently has running all the time? The display is pretty jerky at times, especially when scrolling down my list of contacts. If any of you guys have a method I can use to get rid of bloatware, as well as a list of what can safely be deleted, I sure would appreciate it.

U would need to root your phone, and tgen install Titanium Backup Pro. It would allow u to unistall any application that came with the phone that u dont want. The process is farely easy. Look on this forum as there's a very detailed guide on how to root your phone. Good luck. Then u can flash otger ROMs, i'd sugeat SFR 1.2 or Ramdon Thunderhawck.

Great, thanks guys. I guess I have to work up the nerve to root the phone. Too bad it looks like I have to delete my warranty to get decent performance.

Phone is rooted successfully, titanium is installed. Does it delete the odex and apk files when you use it to delete an app, or do you have to go back manually somehow and delete those?

It should remove both files... You can always make a backup of the files you want to remove using Titanium and have them incase you want to restore something...

Then you follow through with the uninstall...

The warranty everyone is worried about is only 1 year from purchase, not the whole 2 years of your contract.

Don't worry about the warranty... You Odin back to stock and your warranty is good to go again (that's if your still within your 1 yr of purchase)
