Phone is Super-Laggy! Any tips for bringing it back to it's former glory?

I have the ATT M8, and over the last month or so I've noticed it getting very laggy. I regularly clean junk with Clean Master, but I'm wondering if a factory reset is in order.

That being said, if i do the reset, and restore from a back up, wont all of the issues be restored by the back up? Is it better to do a clean start over?

Also, has anyone made a list of bloatware apps that can safely be disabled?

This is my first Android phone after 4 iphones, so forgive me for being a bit of a noob!

My M8 was super laggy and got hot all the time. I couldn't pinpoint the problem, so I did a full factory reset. It's lightening fast since. And I did restore all my app downloads from Google Play, but I did not restore from a backup.

While I agree he could have googled that and found it, what you posted does not contain the word "Dalvik", and therefore you didn't find that by googling " wipe dalvik cache".

However, those are the correct directions.

Did you try the equivalent of a battery pull? I think you hold power & volume up for 10 seconds & phone reboots. Always works for me.
