Phone is very laggy lately and battery draining a lot quicker

Lately my phone has been very laggy and my battery has been draining a lot quicker. I'm not sure what the cause could be. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try or am I the only one having this issue?

Have you installed any new apps in the last week or two?

Apps can be a major contributor to battery use and latency. You may want to download a battery monitor widget/app to let you know what is happening.

You might also try restarting the phone if you haven't. It could be a rogue process or application or just time.

Thanks for your assistance...I have restarted the phone and deleted my most recent apps. I'll see if that helps any. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

System Pannel lite allows you to monitor CPU usage. You can see if your processors are running at high speed a lot.
If an app is indeed not working properly this will cause the unit to spend more cpu time on that app and cause your device to become sluggish as well as drain the battery faster.

But as the other posters said, usually if a device works fine, then suddenly becomes slow its either a recently installed app or an update to an app that didnt take to well.
