Hello, my htc u11 would not charge when plugged. At first I thought it was the cable so I bought a new Anker, still not charging. The cable and adapter work on other devices but the u11 won't charge. There was a little bit of debris in the port but it still won't charge after cleaning. The only way I can get it to charge is if I turn off the device then plug it in, but it will charge super slow and drain extremely fast when I turn in on. Also it cannot connect to my pc

I definitely recheck the charger port , if the phone is water-resistant rinse it a little with warm water and try using a toothpick gentle and clean it out .

I've tried doing that without the water. A little bit of junk came out but still not charging/connecting to pc. I think something's wrong with the port. Is there anything I could try before taking it to repair? How much would a socket replacement cost?

Repair not sure how much , but if its water resistant rinse water might be something sticky and clean little more , if still a issue repair shop.

When you plug the cord into the charging port . Does it plug in all the way,to where it kinda banks against the phone?
So not really a gap between the actual cord part and the phone.
If in a case you probably will have to take the case off to see for sure.

It should plug in all the way, if not there still could be something in the port it doesn't take much.I thought I got all the lint out but must not have.

I found out this just the other day myself about one of my phones not wanting to charge. I thought the port might be bad , but I was wrong in my case.

I took it to the place I bought it and sure enough there was pocket lint still in the port. It was still under warranty.
