Phone not compatible

[Android Central Question]

Hey! I have a Galaxy Note 8 that I use through US Cellular and was purchased through US Cellular. It is fully paid off and I have owned it way past 120 days. I called to see if it is unlocked and the person I spoke to says it is unlocked and should be fully compatible but whenever I try and see if the IMEI is compatible for another cell phone carrier it tells me that it's incompatible. My husband has the exact same phone that was purchased unlocked through Amazon and his IMEI says it's compatible with all other carriers I've tried.

Is there something else I need to do? I'd really love to switch carriers but keep my phone. Thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! What other carrier are you wanting to switch to? Certain carriers (like Verizon and AT&T) can be very picky about which devices they let onto their network, so that might be the issue. There's typically nothing you can do about that.
