Phone not dialing out from Google voice number

Hey, I just started using Google Voice after using Youmail for a couple of years. Got tried of it and started using GV. I got the voicemail feature working just fine. But i have tried dialing out from my GV number and it doesn't dial out. On my phone it shows as if the call went through and the call time starts moving but the phone i call never rings. I checked all the settings online and they all look correct. Is there some feature or something else i am missing that it is the reason it is not working. Thanks.

How are you initiating the call?

Regularly from my dialpad and then when it ask whether I want to dial out from my Google Voice number or not I choose my Google Voice number
