I have an old nexus5x that I have been nursing along. Running 8.1.0.
After a phone call is established, the phone application will not show the numeric dialpad when the keypad button is pressed.
The dialpad will show and allow me to make a call, but pressing the keypad button once a call is initiated (to dial meeting ID's in conference calls, or to navigate a phone tree for example)
This is not a proximity sensor issue - screen shows fine, keypad button lights and stays lit but numbers dont appear on the screen.
All other buttons (speaker/phone, mute, add call, hang up) all function fine.
I have cleared phone app cache and data.
I have cleared the device cache (recovery mode) and restarted.
Still no joy.
Can I de-reinstall the actual phone app?
Thanks,
Old bald guy mike
