Phone numbers not recognizing pause in calendar app

I have conference phone numbers on my calendar appointments that contain the comma to separate them from the pin code. for example 847-555-1212,,1234567890# which should display as a single link that when clicked launches the phone app and dials the main number pauses then enters the pin code. The calendar events don't seem to recognize the , as part of the phone number and are splitting it into two numbers instead of one.

Is there any way to get the phone to recognize it as a single link? This is the standard method of pausing within a dial string and works on most other phones.

I found this works for me. I typed the numbers in my dialer, including the pauses (2 sec pause for each comma) and then saved it to my contacts. Then, when I enter it in the calendar and click on it, it opens the contact and dials. This will only work if the phone is answered after the first dial, so you can't test it dialing it yourself.

Unfortunately the I get different requests from others via meeting requests and each one is different. Having to manually re-enter and save each one just isn't practical. Is there any chance of replacing the calendar app with another version ?
