Phone outage in Michigan?

Whenever I try to call a number from my cell phone in my area code, it immediately hangs up. Doesn't matter if it is a cell number or landline.

If I dial a number in another area code it works fine.

I have found that if I add a 1 to the beginning of the number it will work, even within my area code.

I have never had to add a 1 to the number before.

Anyone else having this issue?

I'm in Grand Rapids and haven't had any problems.

If I dial a number in another area code it works fine.

I have found that if I add a 1 to the beginning of the number it will work, even within my area code.
