Phone possibly rolled over & died

Okay so my phone kept beeping at me to charge it and I wasn't able to at that moment.

When I finally plugged it in in my car, it came up with this weird screen after I hit the power button. It gave me a few options including reset and recovery, so I chose recovery and it's been charging now for a while. There's just a picture of the phone with a red triangle and a red exclamation point over it.

Am I doomed? Is my phone dead dead? It's not exactly charging because the orange light isn't lit up. So uh, what's going on here???

EDIT: I may be stupidly treating this like a Blackberry and did a battery pull. Let's see what happens...

Edit EDIT: THE PHONE CAME BACK TO LIFE! Hallelujah. However, I can't say I appreciate the panic this phone sends me flying into.
