Phone powers down at 90%

I charged my htc one m7 to a 100% putting on the data for a few minute the battery runs down to 90 or maybe 80 percent and shutdown. When i power it ON it shows 55 percent. Pls i need help its very annoying, sometimes at 45% it will just power off without anything running,no data connection nor wifi is on. Pls i need help what do i do?

damaged battery, take it to a repair center to replace it.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with @jasonandrews25788 -- or it may not necessarily be damaged, just old. Batteries don't last forever.
