My phone is randomly turning itself on. And it'll sometimes go a week or more without doing it. This is after I choose shut down.

Then when I hit the power button, I'll see the lock screen, not the Motorola logo. WTF?

And no, it does not say "Searching for service" for a second (I did not select "Sleep").

Could I take it into a Verizon store and exchange it for a new Thunderbolt? I've been having this problem ever since the Gingerbread updat came out. :(

Any help?

I have the same problem on my X so i called and got a refurb that had the same problem. So for mine its a sowtware problem not hardware. After another call to tech support I was told that it is a known software issue and that an update for this and the camera problem are in the works.

Mine does the same thing. After about the second or third time I started turning on airplane mode before I shut it down. That way if it turns itself back on it still doesn't get a signal. Not sure of your reasons, but federal law requires my phone to be off while at work so having it turning itself back on was a big issue for me.

My wife's X is doing this same thing. I cam here looking for a fix. lol
This started happening only after she did the GB update.
