Ok, so this is a bit weird. When the phone screen comes up during a call while my Droid is in the car mount (or the desktop mount for that matter), its still oriented vertically, as opposed to everything else that switches to a horizontal orientation when the phone is docked.

Its not a huge problem, though I think its a silly one. I mean, how hard is it for the phone app to look right when its mounted in an official cradle. Or is there a setting that I need to change?

No I think this is the way it is for now. I know its a little annoying but I figure they will fix that as well soon enough.

I'm confused. Are you saying that you have it mounted horizontally but the screen is oriented vertically as normal? Yeah that would make sense. Not every function of the phone works by default in horizontal mode. Like phone calls.

Why not mount it vertically? Or are you mounting it sideways for google maps nav? That I could understand, makes more sense.

DM Droid -- you hit the nail on the head -- I have it mounted horizontally for nav. And its not really a big deal -- I can tilt my head a little. ;)

It's probably that way since the ear piece and the mic are still oriented the same way and the programmers figured why change something that isn?t broke.

Wow... that's something I haven't noticed until this thread. Weird.
I've always used my JB Prime BT, so whenever anyone called me while I was driving, I never really gave it any thought.

Hopefully this will be something that And/Goog/Moto will resolve very soon.

The storm is like this. Pretty much everywhere but the phone can be view in either orientation. I dunno I always thought navi was better in portrait because I usually have it to track up and I think by defaul that is how Google Navi is
