Phone signal strength

I just moved from a Motorola Atrix to an HTC ONE. Both phones were on the AT&T service provider. The signal strength is much lower on the new phone, sometimes to the point where there is no signal. I have compared this to the signal strength for other people using AT&T on other phone (e.g. iPhone 5) and when they are right next to me they have a signal when I may not.

Is anyone else having this trouble?

Thanks

if you slip your sim back into the atrix and you have good signal and remove sim to the one and dont i would hustle on down to the att store and grab a new one

You can't compare any phone with the iPhone. For several models Apple has had reception problems with the iPhone. Some time back they rigged the antenna signal so that it shows a better signal than what you actually have. The only way to compare signal strength from phone to phone is to check it strength under the about phone section. See how many dbs the phone is pulling in, the lower the number the stronger the signal. This lets you compare apples to apples. By the way, Motorola is known for strong signal strength.
