Phone sometimes charging ,sometimes not

[Android Central Question]

I've been having a diffiucult time with my phone today. Sometimes its charging the other time not at all .
Sometimes charge only when switched off and then when switched back on loses percentage extremely fast.
The cable and the charger works fine with other phone excepts mine.
What should i do ??
It is the charging port ?

Perhaps, or dirt therein perhaps; or the battery or some other piece of the hardware is bad.

Welcome to Android Central! If the battery is discharging faster than normal, perhaps your battery is failing. What kind of phone do you have, and now long have you had it? Also, it would be a wise idea to not leave your phone charging will you are sleeping or in another room -- just in case!
