So my phone was stolen, it was encrypted and had the power on password setup and a lockscreen pin. I'm wondering will this person be able to wipe this device or use it in anyway? The bootloader wasn't unlocked or anything, not even rooted, stock android.

I've already gotten a new phone but I'm just wondering about the old one and also trying to secure the new one as best I can. Is there a way to continue tracking the phone even if it is wiped?

The carriers can blacklist the IMEI number so that it's not usable, and I suppose that if they wanted to they could track it and locate it, but I doubt they would go that far. Sorry.

That's why I use Lookout. You can track, and remote wipe.

I believe it you have all that set up, the phone's junk. A factory reset will still prompt you to log in with the previous Google account on the phone, so that's a dead end. And since you have never unlocked the phone and the OEM unlock flag hasn't been touched, the thief won't be able to flash anything in fastboot.

As for your data.. even if they figure out a way around the above, since your data was encrypted, they get it without the key.
