phone turns off then won't turn on

Sometimes for no reason, when I think the phone is idle, it is actually off and won't turn on until I take the battery out and then put it back in. Anyone else had this problem? What causes it and how can I fix it (especially without having to replace the battery everytime)???

Had the same problem but swapped it out right away within my 30 days. No problems yet, knock on wood.

my wifes phone is having a similar problem. it just restarts when the screen is off.
