Phone volume goes up by too much when using volume bumpers

[Android Central Question]

When i turn up the volume on my moto g5 plus phone it goes up by about 5 volume steps at once or down by around 5 volume steps if i press the down button. This happens gradually and only when i use the buttons, i can adjust with the touchscreen just fine. Any fixes?
