Phone will let me change path to sd card but not move files

I have a Galaxy j7 Crown (2019).
I added a sd card, a: Samsung (MB-ME128GA/AM) 128GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC EVO Select Memory Card.

It recognizes the card and lets me move storage to external sd card, even my camera.
However when I try to move the pictures (or any other file it only gives me "cancel" and "move here" options (see pic below), which is the same folder.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Are you using the My Files app to move files?

In that screen, are you able to tap the upper part of the screen to navigate to a different directory while that bottom bar with Cancel and Move Here remains on the screen?

No, but the < button to the left side of the screen will allow me to manually navigate to the sd card.
