phone won't boot into recovery

when I hold down the power button+vol down nothing happens. when I let go of both buttons the phone boots up normally. Any ideas?

Dont hold down power, only press it like normal. But do hold down vol down. Also, make sure fast boot is off in settings -> power.

Have you turned off fastboot?

Thats what I'm thinking too.

Pull battery then try the above suggestions (if you weren't able to get it already before I posted this)
