So the problem started with the phone provider(Tesco's) before l moved over to my new phone(Motorola g6) last March, but it has gotten worse since then, with the last two months seeing problems escalating.
So the phone kept on switching off automatically, now for the last two weeks the volume has being going down automatically, yesterday it refused to put sound through the headphones, then for today it has being going up automatically, and even better the phone refused to switch off!!
I have tried rebooting it, resetting the apps, but nothing works, any advice? I really want to avoid a factory reset.
Is there a way to access the volume beyond the normal interface and fix it?
Is it possible there is some kind of virus(emanating from Tesco's?) corrupting the phone, if so, how to fix it?
JB.

are you using a case, and if so does the problem persist when you remove the case ?

The only virus you are getting from Tesco is salmonella from their chicken when the fridges go down in summer.. every single summer...

also, I know that salmonella is bacteria and not a virus. I was doing a thing lol

Does it also happen in Safe Mode? https://www.motorola-support.com/us-en/?page=device/motorola/moto-g6/topic/reset/safe-mode/1

This kind of thing is almost never a virus. There are so many ways things can glitch out, either due to a poorly coded 3rd party app, or even bugs in the phone's own firmware or system apps.
