phone won't reboot

i just did the odin back to 2.1 trick to get my phone ready to root. odin said pass & now my phone will not reboot in recovery or regular. is there another trick to get it up and running?

ok. upon further review, i did not do odin the correct way. i did not unzip the files correctly (thanks vista), the upvol+dnvol+pwr does not stop the boot loop that my phone is in. any other ideas?

Easiest way is to use Odin again with Download mode using the USB connect + VOLUP/VOLDWN. Unless you have specific reason to load back to 2.1, it is easier in almost all respects to instead use the KH3 package with CWM injected kernel. If you do not have the Gingerbread bootloaders, there is a version that does that too.

From there, you can flash anything you want from CWM, CM or Samsung.

i have tried the 3 button routine along with countless other sequence of button pushing at least eleventy billion times. no luck at stopping the boot loop. i ordered a jig. hopefully that will get me where i need to be. thanks guys

Sounds like the classic 1010 build issue. JIG should take care of it, just don't use one-click when you do try again.
