Phone won't reconnect to home wifi

Very odd problem on my wife's Moto G5Plus. When she returns home from somewhere, her phone won't reconnect to our home wifi. If she turns wifi off & on, it reconnects immediately.

We are on a limited data plan, and this causes her to run through data because she doesn't always realize that she isn't connected.

My phone, same model, same OS level, same upgrades, connects fine, and even remembers that I have Smart Lock on to stay unlocked at home.

Any ideas on what might be wrong with hers?

Go to Settings - System - Reset Options and select Reset WiFi, mobile & Bluetooth, then once it's completed do a restart and reconnect to the network... If that doesn't do it, factory reset your wireless router and manually reconfigure it, make sure to use WPA2-PSK only and use AES only (not TKIP or DES).

Also, she could try forgetting that specific WiFi network and reconnecting again. There's a small chance that it could work, if not, I would follow acejavelin advice and start resetting things.
