Was using it fine, last night. Plugged it in, overnight, and now.....nothing. I am running the Liberty ROM, not that I think that has anything to do with it. When I push the power button, on occasion, the LED indicator will flash VERY briefly a whitish blue color.

So, since I have put a new ROM on it, can I still go to Verizon, for help?

Oh....I tried holding down the "home" key, and then pushing the "Power" key. Still nothing.

perhaps the charger was not in all the way and your battery is completely dead.

thats the only i suggestion i have... have a good day and good luck

It's not dead. As long as it is plugged in, the LED indicator shines bright green.

I would suggest not to take the phone in modified. Keep the phone charging for awhile to see what happen. Remove and reinsert the battery as well.

Note: If you decide on returning the phone, remove all modifications off the device.

Good luck to you.

I run Liberty and I don't think the rom has anything to do with it.

Kinda with DroidXCon on this...your battery is just really dead.
I would let it charge for like 30-45 min and try to turn it on.
If that doesn't work try another charger, then another battery.

Generally speaking, if you are on a custom rom I wouldn't expect any support from VZW on anything short of maybe a hardware issue, but that's pushing it. That's the risk you run by going custom, unfortunately.
If you do call VZW i would suggest making sure you can prove its hardware and not the rom.

Solid Green: when the battery is low/dead, insert USB/Charging cable will turn on the green LED to show sign of life. The LED will turn off when the battery is charged enough to power up the phone

I'll make a trip to the Verizon store, and see if they can give me a new battery.

This would have nothing to do with the DroidX Overclock app, would it? I set it to 1.2Ghz Low voltage, yesterday.

that's not what he said,
charge it until the solid green light goes off. Then power it on.

messing with the clock speed and voltage can have an effect on battery life...

i doubt it but its possible, its more likely just wasnt plugged in all the way though

I spent the night at a hotel, and sometimes the plug-ins turn of, when you turn the main light switch off. I will plug it into a different outlet, and let it charge for a while. Hopefully that solves it.

Thanks for the quick responses, this morning, guys!!

Problem solved. The light switch did in deed turn off the power to the plug in. In fact, I can find no outlets that stay "hot", once the lights are turned off, in this entire hotel room.

Thanks again for all of the quick replies!!!

i never knew hotels did that...
that kinda concerns me because generally if i'm traveling, i'm counting on charged phones and laptops.

glad it worked out for you.

I run into it fairly often (I typically stay at Holiday Inns), but I have never run into it, where all of the outlets are turned off. Oddly enough, the bathroom plug ins usually stay hot, so that is where I typically plug my phone, and headset in at. Guess I'll have to pay closer attention, from now on.

buy a second battery and try it, its always good to have a backup anyway... i would go for the 1750 mah at amazon.com

Sometimes its the simplest thing and its not till you try everything in a panic you figure that out.

Glad you figured it out that can be scary
