Photo for Wallpaper

My son-in-law emailed me a photo of his motorcycle which i want to set as wallpaper. When I download it to my phone, save it to the gallery and set as wallpaper the picture is too large and blurry. It doesn't appear that way until I push the "set as" button. Does anyone know why?

Sounds like a cropping issue. If you crop part of a photo to use as a wallpaper then it's entirely possible that the cropped section will be blurry as it is enlarged to fill the wallpaper resolution.

However, if you enlarge the original photo by the same amount in an image viewer and the wallpaper isn't blurry in the image viewer then there's some other issue at hand. Or if your enlarging the crop box to include the whole image but the wallpaper appears to have degraded quality there's another issue at hand. A lot of people don't seem to realize that the size of the crop box can be adjusted by dragging one of the edges.
