Hello,

I'm going on vacation in about 3 weeks, and will be using my S4 as my main picture taking device.

My goal is to take a bunch of pictures off my SD card into either CVS or Walmart and use one of those picture kiosks to print some photos and make an album.

With this in mind, would using 9.6 mp 16:9 ratio print better pictures or should I go with the 13 mp 4:3 ratio? I'm not sure if the 16:9 mode will print a stretched out picture that looks weird in a physical photo album. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

4:3 is proper pic size, 16:9 is widescreen or if you wanted pics for a TV I guess.

My opinion would be to go with the larger 13 mp size.
More detail and it fits standard photo prints better.
The increased detail is needed too if you plan on doing any editing such as zooming in on an image or cropping the picture.

Since your trip is still three weeks away, I suggest that you take several photos using both settings and then going to the photo kiosk and print them out.
See which ones you like better.
The 16:9 looks great on a digital screen but odd in physical format. At least to me it does.
You really can't see much of a difference in detail between 9.6mp or 13mp on a 5 inch phone screen, but on a physical photo it apparent to me.

Just my opinion though.

16:9 is a cropped version of 4:3 to make it fill the screen... Camera hardware only supports 4:3...16:9 is the result of software tweaks... So the full pixel density is only available in 4:3 photos, it goes down in 16:9 due to cropping of the image
