Photon II wishlist

With ICS coming out, part of me wonders/worries if the powers that be may actually just wait and build a Photon II with ICS instead of upgrading. Then again, that's probably just my BB past coming back to haunt me. Either way, if there were to be a MFII, what would be on your wishlist?

So far for me, the only main issue I have is where they placed the charging port. Some programs will ONLY launch horizontally with your USB pointed downward (and they WILL NOT flip if you flip the phone). So, trying to use these programs while charging is basically impossible.

Agreed! Moving the charging port to allow charging while watching Netflix and other apps while using the kickstand would be awesome. Here are a few other things I would like to see:

1. NFC Support
2. 64GB or more of internal memory
3. 2MP or more FRONT Facing camera
4. A rear camera that is on par with the iPhone 4S' camera (that thing is AMAZING!)
5. ICS of course

That's all I can think of right now because I really love my MoPho overall. It is definitely the best phone I've ever had!

You realize that they put the charging port there on purpose to push people to buy docks right? Its not just an oopsie design flaw.

The only thing I would add is a better screen! Thats what made me stay away from this phone. Otherwise the specs are great.

The Camera on the other hand...I feel your pain! The E3D camera has got to be on of the worst. Though its mainly a software issue on the E3D. No update yet for us.

3. Make sure moto branded bluetooth headsets work better with moto branded phones
4. LED's that tell you it's charging/charged when left on and plugged in

Love the moPho. But in all honesty, moto did a killer job at the hardware level! My mopho is rock solid and it looks good to boot. But on the software side of things....there's a lot to be desired.

2. Stock clock widget that works

It's not stock... but, using Beautiful Widgets and selecting the "Beautiful Smaller Home Weather" is GREAT! My wife has the EVO and I would take my BW BSHW widget over her stock clock any day! It's a 4x1 display that shows the clock, weather, temps and condition all very cleanly in the 4x1 space, leaving 12 more icon spots on my homescreen. Their "Beautiful Live Weather" app is a pretty cool one too... but it WILL suck on your battery.

I dont see them bringing out a Photon 2 until next year. The photon is extreamly good and smooth already. Once ICS is updated, the phone will be even more faster with more festures.

C'mon, 64gb's?! The 16 they gave us is very generous. Not many phones have that much. Plus u can add up to a 32gb card. Do u really need more than that? Its going to be several years before phone companies start adding more than 16gb onboard with micro sd capability.

I would like to see the ports moved as well, and get rid of the pentile screen. Other than that this phone is one badass MoPho!

Photon with the new yet to be released Tegra 3 processor would be one bad MoPho in the future.

I use a combo of BW (paid) and Fancy Widgets (paid) already. I agree with BLW being a resource hog, it sucked me down in 10 hours. But for some reason, I like the stock clock/calendar. Its simple and used with the stock weather widget, it gives me simple yet suave. LOL, but it should work without having to resize it every morning. I understand not all people have this particular problem but I and quite a few others on the moto forums have this problem and it hasn't been fixed in 3 updates? It's just shoddy code to me.

Do I think the moPho will get ICS? Yes. But I think it will be later rather than sooner which is a real let down to me. But oh well, can't have everything you want when you want it...right? But the biggest deal breaker for me is the bluetooth. Still doesn't work right and I think it never will. Being a truck driver, bluetooth is the only way to go...especially when I drive a 35 ton bullet!

I have had BT issues as well... until the latest release. My Jabra Extreme appears to work well now.

I'm certainly not complaining about the 16GB we have; just expressing my future desires. There is now a 64GB iPhone so this request is not unrealistic. I would love to put "almost" all of my music and podcasts on my phone then I could almost get rid of my iPod. The more devices I can condense down into one, the better for me.

I agree that the screen can be improved even though the pentile technology does not bother me. However, I can see a CLEAR difference when it is placed next to a Super Amoled+ screen.

I've literally tried ALL of the current weather/clock widgets and have fallen in love with Fancy Widgets.

Yeah, I definitely would not be mad if they gave us 64gigs onboard. If Motorola could match the screen quality of Apple or Samsung, and put it on a Photon, it would be the best phone in the world.

I'd simply be happy with a better screen...and Vanilla Android...and a high quality DAC...the rest I could live with.

I cant stand Samsung's poor cell radios and I don't see any exciting HTC phones coming to Sprint soon...the iPhone didn't work out...I'm stuck for now...

Replace WebTop with Xubuntu and don't give us "It can't be done" we've already had that discussion, moto.

Would like to see amoled colors and pentile sunlight visability. If it truly can't be done then leave the pentile screen.(I like being able to see my screen outside)
