photon Q keyboard interaction

hi folks! ive got some questions about how the physical keyboard interacts with the (software) keyboard. right ne
ow im using smart keyboard, and have also tried swype. How do these two things interact? im coming from a blackberry, which autofixes certain tthings for you, and i'm trying to figure out how to approximate that...

for example, does the user dictionary switch when i switch keyboards?
