Photon Speaker Volume Issue

Hey all,

About 3 days ago, my wife's Photon (we both have one) only sounds about half as loud as mine on speaker. The ringer, music, etc, is all very quiet at max volume.

I talked to Motorola, and they recommended I do a factory reset...didn't fix the issue. The speaker doesn't sound crackily, or distorted at all...it's like the phone is only hitting half volume when turned all the way up.

Any thoughts? Sprint wanted to charge me $40 to replace the speaker, but I'm not fully convinced that's the problem.

That won't help...

mine personally fades hi to low back to high... I'm not exactly sure what causes it. Why is sprint trying to charge you? It should still be under warranty...

My friends Photon had similar low speaker volume problem.

FDR did squat. He took it to Sprint Corp store, they changed the speaker under warranty N/C, they said it was a common issue and the new speaker is working like new for the last 2 months.

Motorola has a 1 year warranty for defects, so make it clear "you ain't paying"! (probably tell them after they replaced it)
