Photos: deleted media reappears

Recently, after moving numerous photos/videos from a folder like Camera or Screenshots to another folder and then later deleting those items (not just 'delete from device' but actually trashing it), the deleted media eventually reappeared as Cloud-only in Photos. So it seems that moving media between folders can cause the media to only be removed from the device when deleted, but keep the copy on the Cloud, when it should also be deleted from the Cloud.

Reported this issue to Google. If anyone knows the cause or a workaround, please share. Thanks.

Pixel 7a. It's not happened every time I moved files and then deleted, I think just once so far, but that was enough to require time (that shouldn't have been necessary) to find and re-delete the reappeared media.

No, I moved them via "Move to" and checked afterwards to ensure they were moved. They didn't reappear immediately.

I haven't moved files but I have deleted them and don't re appear ..hmm strange

Are you doing this in the Photos app and not Files?
