Hello! I just switched from an iPhone to S7.

I have about 100 photos selected as favorites which I need to upload to facebook/ IG. However, these social media platforms are not recognizing photos in favorites as an album, but rather showing my raw photo gallery which has thousands of photos.

Is there a way to efficiently move all my carefully selected photos in favorites to a different album which Facebook or Instagram will recognize?

I did not have this issue with the iPhone, and I understand the is most likely an issue with the apps and not my phone.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Android Central! You could try using a file manager app to create a new directory (called Favorites) in the main user directory of Internal Storage or the microSD card. The copy the favorite photo files to that new directory. In the social media app you're using, see if you can access that local directory to upload the photos. I believe this can be done with LinkedIn, but I'm not sure about FB (since I only use the mobile browser version, rather than the app).

I think this is a problem with the garbage Facebook app on Android. I remember on Windows Phone you had access to folders when uploading pictures on Facebook. I android, it just blanket lists every single picture in your phone. Complete junk of an app.
