Photos not backing up to gmail account

Hey all,

Not happy with the updated Google photo app and how it works or not when it comes to backing up

It says all photos are backed up, they are not on my gmail account

In the past, I could go to the photo assistant and force a backup, that feature seems to have been removed

Can I get a step by step on how to backup photos to the cloud?

When you go to the main Photos screen, the cloud icon at the upper right has a checkmark?

Swipe in from the left and tap Device Folders. Are any of the photos you're concerned about in folders that aren't set to backup? If there's a cloud with a line through it on the device folder, then nothing there will backup until you change that setting.
