Photos only copy, not move to folders

[Android Central Question]

I recently switched back to android from iphone. My last galaxy took the original photo out of the main picture album and moved it into a folder. I now have a Note8 and when I move photos to an album, the original photo is still in the main gallery. Is there not any way to move the photo instead of just copying it? If I delete the original, they both get Deleted! This is one of the main reasons I switched back to galaxy. I hate the way this is set up....it's just like the iphone

Same thing happened to me. But now it moves the pictures without duplicating them without issues

I'm having the same problem it only copies, not move.. How did you get it to work and move the pictures from the gallery to the album

Just got out of a chat with Tech service on the Samsung site and they indicated that when their last update went into the phone it removed the option for deleting the photo from the original folder when moving to another folder. She stated they will contact me and fix the problem.

I have moved a lot of pictures around and have yet to experience this issue.
