Pic in Pic in Oreo

I'm new to essential phone. Bought it as a comeback into Android after 4 months in iOS.

I tried to use the pic in pic feature of Oreo, but couldn't get it to work. If anyone had been successful in that, please share the steps here.

I have picture in picture working for YouTube, VLC Player, Google Play Movies and Netflix. You should make sure it's enabled for each app in the phones picture in picture settings.

Search for picture in search settings at top then go to special apps access/ picture in picture > picture in picture settings

Which apps have you tried to use PIP?

Youtube is the only one that's not working. Everything else seems to fine. Got the list of apps from the settings

I remember YouTube required subscription to YouTube Red for PIP to work. Not sure if that's still the case. You can get the apk for the modified YouTube vanced on XDA for extra features like PIP, background music playback, dark theme and higher resolution video options.
