I know you can take photos while shooting video, is the resolution normal for those shots or lower?

It would maintain the same ar as the video. So, if the video was shot in 4:3 ar, then you would get an 8 mp 4:3 picture. If the video was shot in 16:9, then you would get an 6 mp 16:9 picture
