Just upgraded to the s20. Ordered a 1 terabyte SD card waiting to arrive. I take a ton of pics and I don't want to deal with sorting them into folders in all 3 apps. I have cloud backup set up for samsung, google, and Amazon prime. I don't share albums/access to my accounts with anyone.
Which app do you find the most reliable? Most compatible with other apps like FB? Easiest to use?Easiest to access photos in cloud and move between cloud, SD card, and device? Any pros/cons? TIA

I personally love the Gallery app, but it doesn't really give you any kind of backup. I use Google Photos for backup.

I use gallery for day to day use..sharing, sorting, etc.

I have (and love) Google Photos for cloud storage (access across all devices) and for finding older pictures. Searching for specific people or animals is very useful.

I too have an SD card but only put pictures I take with the camera on it. I then transfer those pictures to an external hard drive when I get a new phone. That way I have a hard copy, and a cloud copy of each photo.

I quit backing up my pics to Samsung Cloud when they forced OneDrive on us. Kinda redundant, and I didn't want to keep up with a third cloud storage.

Yes.

Yes to all.

I've had too many sd cards fail on me to entrust my pictures to it.

I've had enough picture hosting sites fail.

am i the only one who doesnt trust the cloud for anything?? and i work in the I.T field. for me the choice would be save to SD and make a backup to external HDD or pc. how do people really upload things to google photos and feel safe. maybe its just me then.

yeaa, thats a messed up feeling, when sd cards fail. i had a 64GB Samsung card fail on me, i was like wow, one would think a samsung sd card in a samsung phone would be a match made in heaven, but no, i then switched to a sandisk sd card, and i have not been disappointed since, might just stay with that brand.

You can back it up to Google photos or Samsung cloud/one drive

I mentioned in my OP I used Google Photos. I also use OneDrive until I run out of free storage. I absolutely hate the OneDrive app though.

Com'on now! You know I knew that. LOL

Hahaha...making sure your sharp today

User the Gallery as your default since apps like Instagram and Facebook can't access the other apps.
Keep the others as backup.

That's funny, I'm in the IT Field and am the complete opposite. I'd rather store to cloud than on-prem.
