Recently I'm no longer able to share to Picasa from my phone (hubs has the same issue on his phone-a Bionic).

I can see my Picasa folders and images in my gallery, but from the gallery or from Picsay when I try to upload I get a brief glance at the screen where you put in a caption and select a folder, then it boots me out with a message that says "failed to retrieve account information".

On my TF2000 I have no problem.

Any thoughts?

Picasa has essentially been folded into Google+ (although you can still access picasaweb.google.com), so you can see all of your Picasa pics in Google+.

Seeing them isn't the problem. I can see them just fine. I can't upload (share) to Picasa.

You can upload your photos to Google+. Since they've been merged, you should be able to see your photos on Picasa. In the Google+ settings on your phone, there is a setting for automatic upload of photos taken by your phone.

Right, but I don't want to upload them automatically...I do that to dropbox and I often edit images for posting in blogger later. ...I just want to upload them to Picasa...not share then on G+.

And like I said...seeing them isn't the problem, uploading then is. If I upload then on a pc I can see them just fine.

I see what you mean. Not sure why selecting Picasa directly doesn't work any more. What you can do, though, is use the My Gallery app, select Camera Roll, select your photo, select Share, and select Photo share (Picasa). That will upload to your Picasa account under a folder called "Drop Box" (not related to the Dropbox app, I'm guessing).

:) that's what I've been describing that does *not* work....I get an authentication error. It works from my tablet but no longer from my phone.

Let's be sure we're on the same page. From My Gallery/Camera Roll, if you Share a photo, the many options should include "Picasa" AND "Photo Share (Picasa)." If I try to share a photo with the straight "Picasa" selection, I get the same authentication error you're describing. But if I select "Photo Share (Picasa)," it works. Are you saying neither option works for you?

So you get the same error? lol
And no, photo share doesn't work.

Maybe you could try removing the Picasa account from your phone by going to Settings/Accounts & Sync, and then adding it back again.

i think Picasa is a goner. turning auto upload on in Google+ does not share you photos. it uploads them to your account and you have to manually go in and select what you want to share. it is great. think of it as free online storage for all of your photos.

Yeah, that's what I had figured... it's a bummer though (at least for me). I liked being able to upload edited pics into a specific folder...that's not an option anymore from what I can see - it's not the same as automatic upload, which is great for general backup, but not what I'm looking for ... oh well :/

I can still share to a specific folder from my tablet... at least for the moment!

The more I mess with this the more I think it's phone (or Verizon) related. My tablet gives me no problem, nor does my Nexus 7. I can't even remove the Picasa account on my phone (it generates an error) and add it again.
