Picasa auto backup

I don't use Picasa and hate it. How do I remove the constant auto backup that shows up in my Gallery?

Try going to Settings/Accounts-Google, select your Google account, and uncheck Picasa if it's there. It might be listed as Google Photos now.

Thanks. If I do that will Google+ still backup my photos without the autobackup files showing up in my Gallery?

settings-->Google--[your account]-->check Google+ auto backup will upload all photos to Google+
settings-->Google--[your account]-->check Google photos to show the photos on gallery (you can do the same by opening gallery-->settings--> and enable/disable sync)

yes. Make sure you have autobackup turned on in google+.

Mine must have been turned on at some point as I have this folder full of images but must have been switched off at some point because it isn't syncing now and states in my settings that this is switched off. However the folder is still there and full of the images as per the last sync and I can see no way of removing it. Any ideas?

Yep. Go to settings..accounts..Google..tap your account..unclick photos from sync.
Go to settings...apps...all...disable picassa uploaded.
Go to Google.com log in. Tap the photo option..under more..delete all the pics from Google+.
Go to settings ...apps..all..clear data and cache in gallery app..
Reboot the phone. MY take a few seconds for gallery app to load the first time.

Hi, I had google+ back up for a very long time and the photos that are backed up go to the web server only.Couple of weeks ago I downloaded Picasa and since then folders started to show up on my cellphone although I installed Picasa on my laptop they still go on my phone. I still want the back up by google= but I want to get rid of the picasa 3rd copy of everything I have. So how do I do that?
