Pics not acting right on my Galaxy S3

When I take a picture in portrait mode on my phone, it syncs with Instant Upload on Google+. As such, the pic also appears in the Instant Upload section of the Gallery app on the phone. When I tap on some (not all) of the pics taken in portrait mode in the Instant Upload section of the Gallery app, I notice they condense and then go to landscape mode. The only way I can get the pics to appear on my phone in portrait mode is if I turn the phone upside down.

How can I get these pics to appear and stay in portrait mode?
