picture as wallpaper?

I am trying to set a picture I took as my wallpaper. When I do this, I get a green box making me use just a section of the picture. It then zooms in on that box and comes out horrible. I want the whole picture.
A friend has the HTC incredible, and he has a full picture and it looks great.
Is this something that the evo can do? Am I doing something wrong?

The picture is might be too big.

Try resizing and/or cropping it down to 960x800 and see if it lets you use the full image.

I am in the same boat as you on the incredible.
It wants to crop it more Horizontally I think because you can scroll to different screens....(your image adjusts).
It is annoying as H E double hockey sticks.
