Pingchat notifications

Anyone having issues with getting notifications for pingchat? It says I'm online but I only get something if I open the app. Kinda defeats the purpose. Same thing is happening on my friends BB. Any ideas?

i'm getting the sound notification, but nothing in the notification bar. very, very weird...especially considering it worked up until today.

I don't get any notifications and none of my messages will send, e-mailed developer a week ago and no response....uninstalled.
