Pixel 2 shipped email question.

I ordered a Pixel 2 on the 4th. It said it wasn't going to ship until the 17th. I just received a notification saying that the phone has shipped already. Is it a mistake or is Google shipping them earlier than expected?

It's probably the trade-in kit that's been shipped, so more an inaccuracy than a mistake.
