Pixel 2 XL hangs up when people call

[Android Central Question]

Hey guys. My Pixel 2 XL hangs up whenever someone outside of my contacts calls me. I get a beep and that is that. Any idea. I spoke with Google and we went through everything all the way to factory reset. Still happening. Cheers

After the Factory Reset did you immediately reload all of your stuff?
You should try doing a 'Setup as new'; don't install any applications or application updates; just let your Contacts sync from Google and then give the phone calls a shot.

No I didn't. Man I hate the factory reset. Lose everything. Worth a try I guess. Have you heard of this before?

I did immediately reload. Have you heard of this before? They are willing to run this through warranty.

I haven't seen this mentioned in this forum, but I've only been on here a few months.
It sure doesn't sound like a hardware problem though. Almost like some weird DND setting where it lets all your contacts through but blocks everyone else.

What happens if you just reboot into Safe mode?

tested it in Safe weeks ago and same issue. I tried doing factory reset without adding apps. If that doesn't work I will send back to google for exchange. Appreciate your help
