Pixel 2 XL longer flat charger

I want to have at least a 6 foot wall charger behind my night stand. The pixel stock charger is huge so can I get a flat plug 3 ft extension and plug it into that without issue? Will it charge rapidly? Will it burn my house down?

Yes.
It will if you're using the original charger with a USB-C <> USB-C cable.
Anything is possible, but probably unlikely.

I got Anker's 6 foot c to c cable so I could do the same...it's plugged into the Google brick behind my nightstand and it's long enough so that I can charge and use the phone while sitting in bed. It charges rapidly and it was pretty cheap too.

You can use something like the Ampere app to compare a new cable to the original to see if you're getting a similar charging speed. I picked up an 8ft USB-A to USB-C cable for $10 from a tractor supply store of all places, and it charges within 10ma as quickly as the original.
