Pixel 2 XL won't charge after Android 10 update

I just ran the Android 10 update yesterday, and everything appeared to go fine, update installed successfully, no problems. I plugged the phone into the charger as usual when I went to bed last night, and when I got up this morning, the phone was turned off/dead. I turned it back on, and tried to charge it, and the battery icon at the top of the screen indicates that it is charging, but it's not. I have tried different a different cable, different charger, cleaned the lint out of the charging port, and no change. I have noticed that if I leave the phone plugged in and turn it off, it will charge. This, combined with the fact that it coincides with the Android 10 update leads me to believe it's a software issue, not hardware.

Has anyone else run into this? My next step is probably going to be to contact Google Fi support, but I'm out of ideas.

If it still happens in Safe Mode, then the next step would be a factory reset. There have been various reports of bugs that cleared up with a reset.

Also please make sure the charging port is not dirty with lint and what not. I use a wooden tooth pick to clean the port every 4-5 months. I have had charging issues as well and this fixed it

So it charged normally in safe mode, and after another restart, it's charging normally booted up in normal mode. I'm not sure what happened, but it seems to have resolved itself. Thanks all for the replies.

That's great! Glad it worked out .
