Rebooted my Pixel 3 earlier to remove some persistent notifications (Facebook video notification casting to Chromecast can't be removed), then my phone was stuck on the Google startup screen for over 10, maybe 15 minutes.
Tried doing the power+volume down button suggested in some articles online. That did nothing, no response at all. Then, after a few more minutes researching online, I was relieved when I glanced at my phone and it was somehow able to get past the Google screen.
Anyway, I don't know the root cause at the moment and I have no idea how it was resolved. Just sharing my experience to see if anyone else has encountered it and if yes how it was resolved.
Hopefully it doesn't happen again. But anyway, probably won't be rebooting my phone again anytime soon.
