Pixel 3a XL low call volume

I have an unlocked 3a XL I got from Best Buy on T-Mobile. Everything seems fine with the phone with the exception of the call volume on both the earpiece and over bluetooth. I have the volume for the phone turned all the way up as high as it goes. Music and other multimedia audio is perfectly fine..it's just the phone calls. Anyone else have this issue. I had a Nokia 6.1 that had the same problem and it was related to HD calling on T-Mobile- if you turned that off the volume went back to normal. I assume this is the same situation but the Pixel doesn't let you turn that off like the Nokia does. This is kind of a bummer as the rest of the phone is really good. I also did Google it and noticed owners of the regular Pixel 3 phones have been complaining about this same issue for the past few months too.

I haven't made any calls yet, but that used to be an issue with Moto phones for me. It really sucks. I got my Pixel 3a XL directly from T-Mobile so I will do some tests later today

I just had my first phone call on the Pixel 3a XL on T-Mobile and I thought the call quality and sound was great

I have noticed that the speakerphone volume is probably the lowest of any phone I have ever had. And email notifications are extremely low (using Gmail app).
