Went to check my phone today, took it out of my pocket and touched the fingerprint sensor. A quick vibration and that was it. The screen never turned on, all feed back from the fingerprint sensor stopped, even plugged it in and nothing. Using a S7 now. Damn you the the little things these newer phones do when its taken away from you.

Is it possible the battery drained to zero without your knowledge? Let it sit on a wall outlet for at least 6 hours undisturbed, then press and hold Power for about 20 seconds to see if it turns on.

You could also try charging through slower rate like a laptop for few hours see what happens

I'm trying to leave it plugged in for several hours and we'll see. The phone had 50% ish battery when this happened so I'm not sure how it would randomly fall to 0%?

If the battery is failing (or if it has developed something called a dendrite), that can cause the battery level to drop precipitously.

Encountered something that might be similar on my Pixel 3. Waking the phone up using fingerprint or power button took a full 5-10 seconds. I felt the fingerprint sensor vibrate, but screen took a long time to switch on.

Did a safe mode reboot, issues not there. Uninstalled a few apps then did another reboot. Seems to have solved the issue for now. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Thanks for the above suggestions, however none of these have worked. The Pixel 3XL is still not responding. I'm going to have it diagnosed by a repair shop and I'll let y'all know the result. This S7 isn't too bad and it's pretty smooth using the Microsoft Launcher running Android 8.0. I may just need to hold out for the Pixel 4A or 5.

Alright, hope your Pixel 3 XL can still be saved.

I'm also looking forward to Pixel 4a and 5. Probably won't be updating anytime soon, but I am excited by most things related to Pixel. Think Google might finally nail it with the Pixel 4a and 5.

With the Google first responder program with IbreakUfix I got my Pixel 3XL repaired completely! The phone is flawless again, all functions working. The screen from the other repair shop (cloud9) used was faulty for which they wanted no part in fixing the issue. You get what you pay for has never been more true with that place.

I had been using a very pristine Galaxy S7 for the last few months, and while this device was nice still, it can't hold a candle to having my Pixel 3XL back. the screen, the size, the responsiveness, the camera. I'm hoping I can keep this phone going through the Pixel 5 at least.

Glad you got the phone repaired!
