I'm going install on my pixel 4xl , just need the adb command since you tried it?

Yep - just

adb shell settings put global settings_screenrecord_long_press true

Long-press the power button, then long-press screenshot.

I installed it last night. But not working on my 4XL. Screen goes black and it disconnects. Jumps to lock screen, then home screen and it has not recorded. Weird. Worked on my 2xl during the beta.
